You do not really appreciate your health enough until you suffer from some illness. When you or any of your dear ones fall sick, you realize how important this aspect is - yet how much for granted you take it.

Take a minute and analyze a little whether you and your family have been overall healthy lately, or have you had a series of minor and major illnesses visiting each member of the family.

Feng Shui Your Home For Health

This is not a medical term or process. Feng Shui is a science based on an ancient Chinese philosophy which studies the impact of positive and negative energy created by the placement of the things in your home.

There are five basic elements - earth, water, wood, fire and metal - that contribute to this energy field that we create in our homes. 

The wrong placement of any of these elements would create negative energy. This is something like putting an electric appliance next to water might attract electrocution. Similarly, the placement of each of these elements might influence the energy flow in the house creating havoc in your life.

Be Healthy - The Feng Shui Way

The health area in your home is the middle and the left part of your home (left as you would have it entering your home through the man door). Follow the Feng Shui guidelines given below and see the difference:

1. Mirrors - do not keep mirrors in the bedroom. Especially mirrors that reflect the bed. If you have any, remove them. Mirrors usually reflect the positive energy driving it away from you. The bedroom being the place where you rest and recoup your energy loss, should not have anything that drains energy away.

2. Remove all broken and dysfunctional things from the health area - according to Feng Shui such items directly (and negatively) impact upon the health of the people who live in that house.

3. Wood and green plants - the positive colors for health are blue and green. Anything that adds these colors to the health area would mean better health. Wood is also an element which enhances the positive energy and promotes good health. It is best to have healthy green plants on wooden stands in the health area.

4. Gym items at home - it is great to exercise and having gym items in your health area is okay. However, do not keep it unused as it would actually harm your positive energy. Remove at your earliest any type of equipment that is not used from the health area.

5. Identify positive energy drains - anything than drains out the positive energy from the health area would mean ill-health. Hence, you need to be able to identify and remedy any such drains of positive energy.

Some common things would be, high ceilings in the health area, the back door and front door facing each other, a stairway in the health area, a bathroom and so on. If you have any of these problems, hang up a crystal in the problem area which would reflect the negative energy flowing and promote the formation is the positive one.
