Advance Your Career With Feng Shui

What is Feng Shui? Feng Shui (pronounce it as fung shway) is an ancient custom that was used to balance the elements of wind and water in order to maintain the maximum positive energy around oneself.

This is based on certain simple yet amazingly effective principles of living. Indian civilization - which is as ancient and wise- also has a version of this philosophy or science of living in tandem with nature. This is called Vastu and functions on the same principles as Feng Shui.

Feng Shui At Office

It is easy to remodel your home to suit the Feng Shui principles because in your home you are the decision-making authority and hence, you could do whatever you felt is needed. How can you bring Feng Shui to your office - and advance your career - without upsetting too many people (and your boss)?

The good news is that you could use Feng Shui at macro and micro levels. This is one place where micro-management would be a good idea. Hence, in case you could not Feng Shui your whole office (there could be many reasons for that, such as room shared with too many people, immovable furniture, grouchy boss, etc) there is still hope for you. You could Feng Shui your desk and get the same results.

Success At Work Is Just A Feng Shui Away

Yes, Feng Shui your desk and you would Feng Shui your career at the same time. Check out the following tips and watch the magic transformations that follow:

1. De-clutter your desk - this is one of the most important aspects of this ancient philosophy. There is a deep belief that any clutter - whether at home or at office - affects the soul directly. Not only it stops the positive energy from circulating, but also creates negative energy. Keep the desk clean and organized. Anything that you do not need in the next 15 minutes should be put away.

2. Treat your desk as your room - now, since you cannot Feng Shui the whole office, you would need to work considering that the desk is your whole room. Hence, you need to have:

a. a tiny green live plant in the South-East side of the desk
b. fresh flowers in the East side
c. a crystal paper weight placed in the North East corner
d. computer in the North West direction
e. any red object in the South (you could use artificial flowers or a small decorative lamp)
f. golden ingot (the symbol of wealth and abundance) in the West
g. your coffee mug (full or empty) in the Northern side of the desk

Each of these items is easily available in the market. If you cannot have all the things described above, use as many as you can. Eventually, you could also consult a Feng Shui specialist for customized answers.

3. Your own placement - try as much as possible to have your back to a wall. You should avoid turning your back (sitting with the back) to a window or open space outside the room. This would leave vulnerable and defenseless.

Try Feng Shui out and see the difference. You will be amazed by its powers.
